St. John the Evangelist, Green Bay, Church Centennial

St. John the Evangelist Church, Green Bay, WI, is the oldest parish in the State of Wisconsin. On Sunday, September 16, 2012, the parish celebrated a milestone of their church turning 100 years old (this is the fourth church for the parish). Mass was presided by Bishop Robert Banks, Retired Bishop of the Diocese (I didn't go to the Mass but I've been hearing about it a lot lately so I decided to do this post). Click here for a news video of the celebration and here for pictures.

(Is the idea now to make churches as plain as possible?? Don't get me wrong, this is a beautiful church, but compared to the picture above, it doesn't compare. It's still way better than some other churches though! )
