50 Years: Golden Anniversary
October 16, 1962 was a brisk day and very windy (there's a picture to prove it!). Though not ideal, on this day 50 years ago, as the old saying goes, "Two hearts became one." Tom and Maureen, or as to me, Grandpa and Grandma, have been married for 50 years today. Mass was celebrated at St. Paul Church, Wrightstown, WI, with the reception at Van Abel's of Hollandtown. The same happened on Sunday, the only difference being they were surrounded by 3 children and 13 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. The years have been filled with unimaginable joy and fun; and sometimes unbelievable sorrow, such as the loss of their oldest child just over a year ago. Amid all that has happened, good and bad, Grandma and Grandpa agree that they wouldn't have done it with anyone else.
"That what God hath joined together, let no man put asunder."
